History, expanded.
The Cultural Heritage Center was established in November 2024 to serve as a hub for cultural exchange, education, and celebration.
We are located in Fresno and in the historic Chinatown. Formed by segregation from the 1850s through the 1950s, the Chinatown neighborhood in Fresno became home to eleven identified cultures, including people from Africa, Armenia, Basque countries, China, Greece, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Philippines, Portugal, and Russia.
One of our goals is to co-cultivate a deeper understanding of the eleven origin cultures and their histories in Chinatown. Beyond this, we look forward to developing a shared understanding, appreciation, and respect for the culturally rich and diverse legacies and communities in Fresno.
